Follow the construction of our new building

Exactly two years after the merger of Jonkman Coating and IJdema Coating, the groundwork of the new construction of Jonkman Coating started. In 2 phases, a completely new building will be built on Lemerij 11, on the Veldkamp business park between Hengelo and Borne. The new building is necessary to house a new vertical powder coating line, including pre-anodizing. This requires a height of 23 meters. “Because we are allowed to build a maximum of 15 meters high, we are going to dig 8 meters deep to locate the vertical pre-anodizing installation. We were looking for a 20,000 m² lot that meets our needs, such as good accessibility from the highway and in the neighborhood, “says director Harmen IJdema.

“Especially due to the fact that all our employees live in the immediate vicinity. And that in a beautiful visibility location! We can realize a future-proof company here, where we can introduce or implement various sustainable measures and innovative business processes.” In addition to the new technology in the vertical installation that, in combination with the integrated pre-treatment, is unique in the Netherlands, we will also invest in new laboratory facilities. This will still take place in the first phase of the new construction.

Also in the second phase, the horizontal lines will be moved or newly built and a new wet coating hall will be built. Construction of this 2nd phase has been completed and the chemical pre-treatment and coating lines are being built and will be operational in January 2024.

During 2024, pre-anodising of sheet metal and parts will also be commissioned.
