The process
Chromating is a pre-treatment method for aluminum and galvanized (hot dip and sendzimir) substrates. The chromate layer is applied by immersion processes. In large baths, your products are pre-treated in baskets and with the help of an overhead crane. The process steps consist of: alkaline degreasing, rinsing, acid pickling, rinsing, chromating, rinsing, rinsing in demineralised water and drying.
Application
In addition to being an anticorrosive agent, it is also used to improve adhesion. The chromating is also carried out as a stand-alone treatment if parts are glued together for exampled. The process is widely applied to products intended for, for example, the construction sector, aerospace and technical equipment.
