Surtec 650, based on chromium 3, is the product name for an environmentally friendly, non-toxic pre-treatment process that is free of 6-worthy chromium.
The process
The Surtec layer is applied by means of immersion processes. In large baths, your products are pre-treated in baskets and with the help of an overhead crane. The process steps consist of: alkaline degreasing, rinsing, acid pickling, rinsing, demi-rinsing, Surtec 650, rinsing, rinsing in demi-water and drying.
By varying the treatment time, layers can also be applied as an alternative to blank chromatography (bare corrosion resistance).

Surtec 650 is widely used in the defense industry. Surtec 650 meets the corrosion protection standards according to MIL DTL 5541F and MIL-DTL-81706B (336 h salt spray test according to ASTM B-117 and DIN EN ISO 9227 respectively)
