Iron phosphating is a degreasing passivation with good adhesion for indoor use. It is a pre-treatment for steel substrates that is carried out for 2 reasons, namely: creating better corrosion resistance and better adhesion of the subsequent coating layer.
The process
Jonkman Coating applies this pre-treatment layer by means of spraying processes. Your products are pre-treated in line in a spraying tunnel. The process steps for iron phosphating are as follows: degreasing, iron phosphating, rinsing in demineralised water, drying
These products can then be coated in the same line with 1 or 2 layers of powder coating.
Applications
The general application of this pre-treatment is an indoor application. The corrosion resistance is less than that with zinc phosphating as pre-treatment. Examples are: customer guidance systems, cabinet panels, suspension systems, wall cladding, parts for machine construction, etc.
