History
“Jonkman Coating Spuit- en Moffelbedrijf” was founded in 1950 by Gerrit Jonkman and started as a wet paint company on the location at the Anton Brücknerstraat. The move to the current location on Beitelstraat in 1967 was necessary to achieve further growth and for further professionalization. Major customers such as Philips, Stork, Holland Signaal (now Thales), Heemaf (later Holec and Eaton) provided strong growth in the 60s and 70s, with the construction industry joining in as a customer after the general industry.
In the early 1980s, powder coating was introduced and Jonkman Coating was one of the first companies in the Netherlands to provide windows and doors with powder coating, then as elements and shorter lengths of profiles. Jonkman Coating is therefore the oldest Qualicoat license holder in the Netherlands.
In 1983 the company was taken over by his son, Friedus Jonkman and the name changed to the current name: Jonkman Coating BV. The hall was built in 1990 for coating long lengths and the new bath series. Further growth led to the construction of an expedition hall, expansion of the industrial space for another 2 powder coating lines and expansion of the bath series. The business surface is now around 9,400 m2. In 2016 the company was taken over by Harmen IJdema.
Markets
Jonkman produces under conditioned and manageable conditions and applies high-quality pre-treatment systems on steel (iron phosphate and zinc phosphate), zinc and aluminum (trivalent chromate and pre-anodizing on profiles). After the pre-treatment, the products are provided with a powder coating or a wet paint.
Products find their way to façade construction, masonry support, noise barriers, off-shore, luxury yacht construction, medical industry, truck construction, defense, train construction, machine construction, balcony fences and interior wall industry
Investing in the future
In order to realise further growth, an entirely new building (almost 20,000 m2 of business space) was built in 2 phases on the Lemerij in Veldkamp industrial estate. In the 1st phase, a unique vertical powder coating line was built with integrated pre-anodisation as pretreatment. Jonkman Coating was the first in the world to obtain Qualicoat certification on such a facility. Something to be proud off
The 2nd phase includes the replacement of the old horizontal lines and the wet-coating division. On the ground floor, a more efficient horizontal (spray) pre-treatment for both steel and aluminium and large buffer zones for hanging and removing products. On the first floor, a dryer, oven and 4 powder booths, including 1 primer booth with its own oven.
The new wet painting department is also located on the first floor.

All our policy decisions, besides economic, financial, technical and social aspects, are aimed at maintaining and improving the quality, working conditions and environmental performance of our company. Care for this is guaranteed by our management system, which is set up on the basis of ISO 9001 (quality) and ISO 14001 (environment).
