Spraypainting

OVERVIEW SERVICES
This service is provided by

Spray painting has an age-old past. Spray painting is the process whereby a liquid paint is applied to your product manually or robotically.

What is spray painting?

Spray painting is the process at which a liquid paint is applied to your product manually or robotically. If the paint is applied by spraying, it is sprayed with the help of air. This can be done under low pressure, but also under high pressure, depending on the type of paint, parts to be sprayed and available equipment. A wet paint can be solvent based or water based. With the latter, organic solvents are no longer used, but water is the carrier of the product. After applying a varnish system, the product must be allowed to get rid of the solvent (evaporate) and cure. The latter is usually forced in an oven to speed up the lead time. The solid components that remain then form the final paint layer that provides protection and embellishment.

Different methods

There are many types of wet paints to be applied, depending on the substrate and the requirements that are set. Unlike with powder, several curing methods are conceivable with wet paints. Commonly used wet paints are:

Air drying varnishes: varnishes that dry without the addition of a hardener component due to oxygen absorption (air-drying).
More component lacquers: lacquers whose basic component does not cure by itself, but where a chemical reaction is initiated under the influence of a hardener that causes the lacquer to harden.
Muffle varnishes: varnishes that cure under the influence of a relatively high temperature (from 130 degrees).

Multiple component paints

Multiple component lacquers come in various types. During wet lacquering the following multiple component lacquers (in all kinds of variations) are often used:

2-component epoxy: primers and mid-coat
2-component polyurethane: mid-coat or final layer
