The Green Emerald of the North

In 2018, the Topsportzorgcentrum FC Groningen opened at Sportpark Corpus den Hoorn. The TopsportZorgCentrum (TsZC) is a multifunctional complex that connects top sport, top healthcare, top knowledge and top entrepreneurship and builds a bridge to recreational sport and vitality in the Northern Netherlands. The project is an initiative of the ‘main users’ FC Groningen, INTER-PSY and VNO-NCW/MKB Noord in collaboration with Euroborg NV, the Municipality of Groningen, the Province of Groningen and various partners such as the University of Groningen, Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Martini Hospital, UMCG and Effective Group.

FC Groningen uses the training facilities on the ground floor. Above this are offices, care and catering.
The combination of all these functionalities in one location and under one roof is unique in the Netherlands.

The building is characterized by a very striking green aluminum facade, making it an iconic building along the A7. The building is also called the green emerald of the north.

Quality first

The requirements that the client sets for powder coatings are becoming increasingly higher. In addition to the fact that the powder coatings must comply with the aesthetic image of the architect, a long service life is also of decisive importance.
Jonkman Coating has therefore applied Alesta® superdurable powder coatings from Eurolacke. This product line is suitable for harsher weather conditions.
The supplied Alesta® SuperDurable powder coatings comply with the quality label Qualicoat Class 2. Qualicoat is a quality label that focuses on process and product quality of powder coatings on aluminum and facade construction. Powder coatings that meet this quality label guarantee many years of gloss and color retention.

Jonkman Coating B.V. has approximately 2900 m2 of sheet metal and profiles coated in 6 different shades of green in a satin finish.
